Antoni Piotrowicz

He was born in Chelmno and attended schools here. Later, he left for Germany and Italy where he further developed his artistic skills. After his return to Chelmno he took part in the cultural and national life of the city. He was a co-founder of the Gymnastic Society ‘Falcon’. The main focus of his work is portraits, copies of works of other painters and religious and national paintings. He had ateliers at 21 Grudziacka Street and at 1 Kosciuszki Street where he gave painting and drawing lessons. Most of his paintings can be found in the museum of the Chelmno Land. He was buried in his family tomb at the parish cemetery.
