The Public Library

The public library took its name after Walenty Fialek who was a printer, bibliophile and big propagator of Polish folk books in the territory annexed by the Prussians. The book collection consists of 65,000 volumes. 3,000 audio books and 40 titles of magazines. The variety of the collection and a cultural-educational activity of the library – meetings with writers and interesting people, reading and art contests, and exhibitions attract people and over 180 visit the library every day. Additionally, the library has its branch in the Primary School No. 4 and in a local prison.
